Rino Pirovano 'Multiplor' Desk Organizer
1980’s
Sold 3/3/2022
Rexite ‘Multiplor’ rotating desk organizer. Designed by Rino Pirovano in 1968 for the Italian company Rexite. With a simple rotatory movement, the compact, cylindrical design’s four polymer and steel storage trays are revealed. Each tray can be opened individually or fanned out for access to all trays at once. In addition to its clever swivel design, the base is weighted, allowing the user to open the trays with one hand.
Often found in white, red and silver, this particular piece is unique for its mauve/pink color. It was manufactured and marketed in the US by Interdesign. This example likely comes from the 1980’s. The Multiplor neatly stores small everyday items: office supplies, sewing notions, lipsticks, jewelry chains and more while taking up minimal desk space.
