Taupe colored olla-shaped jardiniere with handles and decorated with freesia flowers and leaves in high-relief. An incised decoration of Japanese inspired stylized waves or clouds form the background and give an organic feel to the piece. The body is decorated in an orange glaze highlighted by a feathered band of dark sienna along the bottom. The freesias are glazed in yellow and white with green leaves. Marked on bottom “Roseville U.S.A. 669-8”. The freesia pattern was first produced by Roseville in 1945.

Approximately 12 ½ inches diameter, 8 ¼ inches tall

Condition is as found and generally good with no cracks or crazing. There are remnants of what looks like gold paint in some of the details which only become obvious upon close inspection. Additionally, there is some more gold paint drips on the interior. It looks like inexpensive acrylic craft paint and comes up easily when scratched with a nail. The original surface and decoration are otherwise unaffected by the paint. There are some chips on the inner rim (see photos.)
