Ovate shaped vase in dappled shades of blue, cream and russet. The glazes run into one another, but in a very deliberate way. The silhouettes they form are reminiscent of snow-capped mountains. The glazes are very smooth and highly reflective. Made by hobbyist potters; “Lee and Jackie” in Spokane Washington. The pair started their pottery practice out of necessity. As passionate African Violet growers, they were desperate to find the correct kind of pots for the fickle genus. They began producing African Violet-specific pots and selling them at the local Farmer’s Market on the weekends. 18 years later, Jackie has moved on, but Lee Wallace continues to produces slipcast African Violet pots. Signed “LJ” on the bottom.
In excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. 10 inches tall, 3 inches at mouth, 4 inches at widest part of base.
