White ceramic body in a rounded conical, olla bowl/vase shape. The vessel has been decorated with a turquoise craquelure glaze, highlighted with underpainted lightning bolts in purple and blue. The vessel was expertly crafted by hand on a pottery wheel. The shape is reminiscent of water vessels used in the American Southwest called ollas by the Spanish. The vessel’s shape and narrow neck allow water to stay cool and keep from evaporating. The decoration is very 1990’s postmodern and makes a striking piece.

Marked on the bottom with a fish, cross and signature I can’t quite make out. It’s also marked “yel 729” with an additional set of initials I can’t quite make out. 9 inches tall, 11 inches at the widest, 4 inches at the mouth, 4 ½ inches at the base. Condition is very good with some small, pinhole losses but otherwise no other cracks, chips or unintentional crazing. See photos.
