Large stoneware platter glazed with white and hand painted with the classic “Garofano” or Blue Carnation pattern. Marked “CACF Faenza” indicating it was made in Faenza Italy, where the Garofano pattern originates. The pattern is based off of imported ceramics from Japan and China during the 15th and 16th centuries. It has been continuously made in the Faenza region ever since.
Condition is very good with no chips, cracks, crazing, staining or other signs of wear. Platter is approximately 15 inches wide by 11 inches and 2 inches deep.
