Black stoneware tea bowl, formed on a wheel and hand finished. The bowl’s face highlights an understated indent and an elegant splash of burgundy glaze. The rest of the bowl is decorated with a pitted, black glaze which has pulled down from the rim during the firing, resulting in an interesting transparency with the dark stoneware below. The combination of the glaze and the decoration gives it a wonderful wabi-sabi feel. Its signed on the bottom “Sandra III”
In excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or other signs of wear. Approximately 3 in tall, 5 in wide.
