Available through eBay or Etsy.

Blown glass vessel with swirl design and slight hourglass shape. The bottom has an unsanded pontil mark from production. Avalos Glassworks was established by Camilo Avalos in Mexico City in 1857, eventually the glassworks were moved to Guadalajara. The rustic nature of the glass with its numerous bubbles and inclusions along with the quick, organic feeling of the vessels produced by Avalos have helped shaped our contemporary impressions of Mexican glass. This vessel is likely from the 1940’s- at the height of production at Avalos in Guadalajara.

7 inches tall, 3 inches at the mouth, 2 ¾ inches at the base. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, scratches or flaws.
